Our last all-staff was in the Caribbean. Where did your employer take you?

You’ll work as part of an international team designing and implementing enterprise software solutions. Your job will include developing web, mobile, desktop apps and back-end services.

Role Definition
  • Responsible for development of software products.
  • Focus on preventing defects from entering the system vs finding them in the future.
  • Participate in building integrity into the software product and development processes

Responsibilities include activities, such as:
  • Implementing product backlog items
  • Write automation tests such as unit tests, UI tests or middle tier/service level tests
  • Apply software development best practices
  • Write test cases and plans which enforce the acceptance criteria of product backlog items
  • Work with team to estimate size of backlog items
  • Participate in back log refinement activities such as user story writing and defining acceptance criteria
  • Participate in sprint planning meetings - Help define engineering tasks for sprint. This may include defining design, programming, documentation and testing tasks.
  • Evaluation of technical feasibility of new features and technologies
  • Keep test plans and cases updated to changing requirements
  • Apply continuous integration best practices such as automation testing and continuous builds
  • Continuously look at ways to impove Quality of software
  • Participate in team retrospectives to continuously improve processes
  • Learn new skills when required to support the team program, test and design the software product they are assigned

Skills and specification
  • 4+ years C# .Net development
  • Experience with Big data or Data analytics
  • Experience with Cisco Netflow
  • Experience with sFlow
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Valid work permit for Canada
  • Living in the Ottawa area

Additional assets
  • C# and ASP.NET development
  • Experience with HTML5 and CSS3
  • JavaScript skills.( jQuery and Angular )
  • Experience developing responsive websites for desktop, tablet, and phones
  • REST or other web service APIs
  • Experience working with agile software development frameworks such as Scrum
  • Experience with Test Driven development
  • Experience with automation testing with tools such as protractor, jasmine, selenium
  • Experience in developing software for large enterprises
